Description
The Achenbach Method is complete system of training horses from the very beginning to four-in-hand driving. Beyond that Achenbach set many standards for carriage driving from harness, to carriages and properly turning out horses for showing. His writing and instruction has been adopted by the German Nation Equestrian Federation as “The German Driving Method.”
Achenbach’s rein handling position has been used by driving schools throughout the world as the standard by which carriage driving should be learned. This lesson plan will serve as an excellent introduction to the rein handling method Achenbach advocated over a hundred years ago and is still used by top level trainers, competitors and coaches.

This is the best explanation that I’ve seen of this yet. Really well thought out!
