Description
People don’t really put too much thought into their horse’s halt. Basically, it seems pretty straightforward. You’re driving along, then because you have to stop and give a salute or something, you halt your horse, then start driving again. What more could there be to it, and why would some trainer want to come along and make it more complicated?
One motivation could be that the halt is the first and last impression you make on a judge in a dressage or reinsmanship test. Another motivation may be that a well-executed halt indicates the quality of the horse’s balance, strength, and submission. Even more motivation, a horse that can move fluidly into and out of a halt with balance and precision can move seamlessly through transitions through all of the other gaits.
This 7-page downloadable article explains the halt in detail. Then it gives you useful instructions on how to improve your horse’s halt. Add this article to your cart to start improving your horse’s halt, and enjoying all of the other benefits that will tag along!
